I would appreciate some input from my good friends here

As most of you know, I’ve had some issues with my Laurent Ferrier. It finally came back for the second time after having some significant issues. At this point, I have lost all faith in this particular piece. Mechanical watches can have issues and I appre...

Vacheron Dual Time all day long.

 By: ANDLIST : January 17th, 2024-21:01
The Vacheron is a collection killer. Three straps, 150M water resistance, anti-magnetic, good size, Geneva seal, 8 year warranty or something and Trinity? It’s literally a no brainer.

Sorry about the LF…one of my dream watches for sure…

 By: myles721 : January 17th, 2024-21:07
of course the Tonda is the other one🤣…no brainer…TONDA!!!

I suspect the replies will substantially favor the VC.

And it is a killer watch, and certainly harder to obtain than the Parmigiani. But don't dismiss the PF. It is a very serious piece, and more closely relates to the LF you are replacing, IMO. Of course, you could circle back to it later. But if you are onl...

Both are great choice. You should take the one that trigger the most passion for you. Based on my personal preference I would pick the Oversea mainly for two reasons:

1- wearability in general I find easier with white metal (that may be different for you my friend) and the fact you get both a metal bracelet look and a strap look; 2- legibility. The Ronda worries me in terms of real life legibility with the hand design ...

+1

Both are reasonable arguments. I support too. Regards

I am afraid, It is your decision!

Forgive my stance among the experts. But, is it only me that find this comparison between oranges and apples. A steel case versus precious metal, a date versus dual time & date complications, a band vs bracelet, different case thickness,.. I believe y...

I think VC is my favorite brand

 By: TeutonicCarFan : January 17th, 2024-22:09
So I'm biased. I do like the black dial DT better for contrast with the red accents. As for PF, I actually have a curve ball .. I like this for the color combo and no date... if too much purple could see if they have grey strap 🤷‍♂️ ...

Great suggestion - I like the look a lot! Unfortunately there is one major issue ...

The movement is a non-trivial downgrade from the micro rotor one. Also thicker.

I prefer this config to the white dial

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : January 18th, 2024-13:30

In principle, I would prefer the brand PF as a replacement for your LF.

 By: MTR : January 17th, 2024-22:28
That would be the logical successor and, in my view, a highly attractive watch brand. However, I find the date window in this form really... terrible. At least in the photo. I know I am here with my taste ... special, but this dial and date combination ju...

VCO for me

 By: ChetBaker : January 17th, 2024-22:29

Sorry double post

 By: MCG (Markus) : January 17th, 2024-23:26

For me it would be the PF, BUT…

 By: MCG (Markus) : January 17th, 2024-23:28
and there is a big BUT: a date window on a watch like this does not work! However, what version is this? Meanwhile the date window is much better integrated! I would grab this version!! Or the one in steel/platinum…

Full agreement. There are a good number of PF watches that are so close for me...

 By: MichaelC : January 18th, 2024-00:15
But then a date window or an unnecessary dial marking or something messes up the whole. But there are a few I still love

VC

Very tough decision...

Hi there - I am sorry to your about your LF. I have an Origin Opaline (which is the piece you have also I think) and have enjoyed it as you had hoped to. I understand the need to move on at this point! The Tonda vs Overseas was top of my mind in late 2022...

+100!

 By: MTR : January 18th, 2024-11:11

I do think so.

 By: amanico : January 18th, 2024-13:48

These are great choices

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : January 18th, 2024-13:30

For me I would go for the Overseas.

 By: edtonkin : January 18th, 2024-01:49
But each one has his own likes and dislikes. The Overseas has a nice complication, easy strap changes, durable, the blue dial is out of this world and it’s versatile. Just my $0.02. Stay warm, dry and cozy , Doc!

Between these two, the VC!

 By: jleno : January 18th, 2024-02:02
I think it's generally more attractive and distinct as a sports watch. With the changeable strap options and the movement being slightly more well-finished, it would be an easy choice for me.

Had the vc, love the Parmigiani

 By: shafran : January 18th, 2024-09:17
The Parmigiani is sublime.

PF for me, it is more refined

 By: penfriend : January 18th, 2024-09:41
with the VCO I cannot get around with the PM/AM indicator - that ruins the dial for me

VC definitely.

 By: heighthorology : January 18th, 2024-14:18
Both very beautiful but that VC is a work of art with that bracelet. The micro adjustment, the water resistance, the power reserve. All so phenomenal on that watch. If you haven’t seen the video by our dear friend Tim, I highly recommend it.

The parmigiani for me!!

 By: Spencer Karrington : January 19th, 2024-02:49
The VC is beautiful but I always have a soft spot for indies so for me it is the other one. Have you looked at Lang and Heyne new sport watch?

Some years back I almost bought a basic blue 3 hander Overseas (went with an Aquanaut instead). Like the brand and like the Overseas styling. A few years later I bought a 39mm RG

 By: InDebtButOnTime : January 19th, 2024-20:24
Tonda, another brand I've always wanted to add to my collection. I think that VC is sportier, the Parmigiani is classier. Both are very nice high end watches. To me the decision would come down to whether I'm after sporty or classy, and maybe ultimate ver...
