After almost 7 month...

May 19, 2014,06:42 AM

My Hommage came back from the spa. It is, practically, brand new. My question is how do I know that it is still regulated within the Besançon Observatory limits. Can I be sure of that or shall I only be proud that my watch has the technical capacity of being "observatory accurate"?

There's only one thing that I am a bit disappointed of: it did not come accompanied by any Roger Dubuis accuracy tests, as expected from a chronometer grade watch. The travel case is nice, though.

Good question, but even better watch.

Since it has been serviced, there is no chronometry certificate anymore, in my opinion. Except if it has been tested, once again, by the Observatory, but in this case, you would have a paper... Best, Nicolas

Thank you for your answer, Nicolas!

So I am left with the pride of owning a beautiful chronometer grade watch and the hope the Roger Dubuis technicians did their best in regulating it. Best, Radone

Worth the wait I bet

This is an absolutely beautiful watch, one of my favourite chronograph. It looks like the 40 mm, right? Now, I have never seen these hands on this model before, did RD have different model hands for the Hommage Chronograph? Again, congratulations. Cheers ...

It is 40 mm

Thank you, Francois! You probably know that RD at that time had series limited to 28 pieces, therefore dials and hands had a quite large variety of combinations. I haven't seen my type of hands in many watches either. Leaf hands are most I've seen in old ...

What a handsome chronograph that is.

I have long admired it -- very exiting to see one on its proud owner's wrist! Best, CaliforniaJed

Thanks, Jed!

Of all my watch posts, this one raises the highest number of admirative comments. Thank you! R

I have no idea if I should thank you....

For me RD was never on my radar as I had only known the more outlandish models of recent time. Seeing your H40 has triggered a deep pang and need to find an old school H37 or H40. WHAT A BEAUTY! I'm completely smitten...boy oh boy....the hunt starts NOW. ...

Good hunting Cholack..........

I have been hunting for a H37 for the past 6 years, saw one in white gold, but before I could take a deep breath....poooof, it was gone;) Cheers and good luck! Francois from Down Under

I know about a few pieces in Europe

This RB Chronograph is amazing!

7 months is a long time. Mine took 4 months. A fine piece in every way and a classic that stands the test of time! All I can say is, they don't make them like they use to. ;) cheers fernando

I remember it took you less time to get it back

We had that conversation then. There's also a direct relationship with the service cost. Mine took more time and costed more money :-). Best, Radu
